Cleveland Cavaliers center Marreese Speights will become an unrestricted free agent after declining the option on his contract for the upcoming season.

Speights, who was due to earn $4.5 million in 2013-14, averaged 10.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 39 games with the Cavaliers after coming over in a midseason trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. The 25-year-old was entering a crowded frontcourt situation with the team, however, with starting center Anderson Varejao coming back from injury and Cleveland selecting UNLV power forward Anthony Bennett with the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday's draft.

The five-year veteran, who entered the NBA as the 16th overall selection by Philadelphia in the 2008 draft, has averaged 7.8 points and 4.4 rebounds over 344 career with the 76ers, Grizzlies and Cavs.
