The Philadelphia Union have signed Brazilian defender Fabinho, the club announced on Friday.
Fabinho, 28, will join the club pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and international transfer certificate and he will occupy and international roster spot.
Per club and league policies, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Fabinho has played professionally in Australia since 2011 and spent last season with Sydney FC in the A-League, Australia's top division, where he made 18 appearances.
"Fabinho has had a successful career and we're excited to add someone of his caliber," Philadelphia manager John Hackworth said. "We think he can provide good depth and quality to an area of our team where we were a little thin."
Fabinho will not be eligible to play in MLS until the international transfer window opens on July 9, making Philadelphia's match against Chivas USA on July 12 the first time he will be available for selection.
