The Minnesota Timberwolves had to feel gutted on Thursday night.
In desperate need of a shooting guard, the T'wolves were set on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from Georgia. He went just before the Wolves were on the clock to the Detroit Pistons, so it was back to the drawing board.
They took Trey Burke in what appeared to be another ill-conceived attempt to add every male point guard on earth to their roster, but it was a trade. They sent Burke to Utah for two picks.
The first turned into Shabazz Muhammad, the most polarizing pick in this draft. During the season, he was thought to be a lottery pick. After a few shaky workouts and getting caught in a big old whopper about his age, Muhammad slid.
He can score, that's for sure, but Minny didn't get the sharp-shooting two guard they wanted. For that reason, the Wolves' draft was a little disappointing. However, if Muhammad plays like the lottery pick people thought he might be, Minnesota is in great shape. Potentially, he could be the steal of this draft.
Dieng is a stud defensive center in the making. But, at 23, he could be a little more polished offensively.
Brown is ... wait for it ... a point guard!
Dubljevic probably won't play a game in a Timberwolves jersey.
