The Phoenix Suns are a team in transition.
Problem is, what is the plan here?
The Suns were horrible last season and there aren't many great pieces in place going forward. A lot of those marginal players are locked in under contract for a little while, so any influx of real talent would come in handy.
At No. 5, the Suns will be able to take the best available player, no matter his position.
If you believe Nerlens Noel, Ben McLemore, Otto Porter, Victor Oladipo and Anthony Bennett are the top five, Phoenix will get one, most likely Oladipo or Bennett.
Oladipo is the type of guy who you can't build a team around, but he's a guy you want around. He's unselfish, versatile and a hard worker.
Bennett has way more upside. He is a tweener between the forward spots, but on pure upside, mixed with actual talent displayed, Bennett may be the best prospect in the draft.
Phoenix should get someone who will help this organization.
They own a second first-round pick, the 30th and final pick in round one.
Lord only knows what kind of talent will be available there, but here are two names to look out for: Michigan's Tim Hardaway, Jr., or Georgia Tech's Glen Rice, Jr. Hardaway seems to be severely under-valued in this draft and Rice dominated the D-League last season.
