The Philadelphia 76ers made what most thought was a brilliant trade last offseason, acquiring legit superstar center Andrew Bynum.
He didn't play a single minute with a myriad of knee injuries and now the Sixers are not in great shape to say the least.
The Bynum decision looms large in this offseason. Do the Sixers offer Bynum a long-term contract, assuming he can still play, or do they feel too burned to bother with the big man?
That question will be answered by new Sixers GM, Sam Hinkie. He is in charge of basketball operations and this will be his first major decision at the helm.
(Definitely will be his first big move considering he's shown absolutely no urgency in hiring a head coach.)
The Sixers have one real quality player in point guard Jrue Holiday. He made his first All-Star team this season. Evan Turner has disappointed. Thaddeus Young is a high-energy forward and Spencer Hawes is a capable big man.
But Philly will need to address one of the frontline spots, even if Bynum is in their future.
Cody Zeller of Indiana, Steven Adams of Pitt and Kelly Olynyk should all be available at No. 11. Each could help to varying degrees although Adams is the biggest project of the three. He might have the highest upside as well.
The Sixers are in a position where any quality player would help this roster.
