The Cleveland Indians on Monday optioned starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco to Triple-A Columbus and promoted left-handed hurler T.J. House from Columbus.
Carrasco is coming off a disappointing outing on Sunday in which he allowed three runs on six hits and four walks in a 5-3 loss to Minnesota. He's compiled a 0-3 record this season with a 7.78 ERA over four starts.
House, 23, has yet to pitch in the majors and could be utilized in the bullpen, where the Indians have struggled to find a reliable lefty. House owns a 3-8 record and 4.83 ERA in 15 starts with both Double-A Akron and Columbus this year.
