Spanish left-hander Feliciano Lopez won his first title since 2010 with a victory over Frenchman Gilles Simon in Saturday's final at the Aegon International.
Lopez outlasted Simon, the No. 2 seed, by a 7-6 (7-2), 6-7 (5-7), 6-0 margin in windy conditions at Devonshire Park.
Simon will not have to wait long to gain revenge against Lopez as the two players will meet in the first round at Wimbledon, which starts Monday.
Lopez fired 16 aces past Simon to capture his first title since winning in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2010. He improved to 3-6 in his career finals.
The 28-year-old Simon fell to 10-4 in title matches.
Lopez took home $113,000 with the victory.
