Carlos Lee has retired from baseball.

The 37-year-old made it official late Thursday, ending the slugger's 14-year career.

Lee split last season between the Astros and Marlins, hitting .264 with nine homers, 27 doubles and 77 RBI over 147 games. Though he had yet to take the field with any club in 2013, he reportedly told a radio station in Central America that he had offers from four teams.

The native of Panama broke into the majors with the White Sox in 1999, staying there until 2004. He also suited up for the Brewers (2005-06) and Rangers (2006), then spent five-plus seasons in Houston.

Over 2,099 contests, Lee slugged 358 homers and drove in 1,363 runs while racking up a .285 average.
