The Portland Timbers maintained their impressive unbeaten run on Wednesday, playing to a 0-0 draw with the Los Angeles Galaxy at the StubHub Center to go 14 league matches without a defeat.

Portland has not lost a regular season match since falling, 2-1, to the Montreal Impact at Jeld-Wen on March 9, going 6-0-8 over their subsequent 14 matches to improve to 27 points on the season.

The Timbers (6-1-9) move to within one point of first-place FC Dallas while Los Angeles (6-6-3) remains in the final playoff slot in the Western Conference on 21 points.

Scoring chances were at a premium in Wednesday's affair, though the Galaxy came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 55th minute.

Sean Franklin curled a shot toward goal that wrong footed Timbers goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts and struck the base of the post. The ball bounced back into play and likely would have been turned into the net on the rebound had it not been for a reactionary swipe from Ricketts to alleviate the danger.

The draw preserves Portland's undefeated road record this season, making the Timbers the only MLS side without a loss away from home soil.
