The New England Patriots announced the signing of rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson, one of two second-round picks by the team in April's NFL Draft, on Thursday.

The Patriots took Dobson, a 6-foot-3, 203-pound product of Marshall University, with the 59th overall choice, seven spots after grabbing Southern Mississippi outside linebacker Jamie Collins with their initial selection of the draft. The 21-year-old was a three-year starter for the Thundering Herd and finished his career with 165 receptions for 2,398 yards.

Dobson added 24 touchdown catches while with Marshall, tied with former Patriots standout Troy Brown for fourth place on the school's all-time list.

New England now has all seven members of its 2013 draft class under contract.
