Chelsea defender David Luiz will undergo surgery to repair a broken nose following the conclusion of the Confederations Cup.

The Brazil international picked up the injury during Wednesday's 2-0 group stage victory over Mexico after colliding with teammate Thiago Silva.

"I'll have to wait until the end of the competition and undergo surgery to fix it," Luiz told Chelsea's official website. "Yes, my nose is broken, but that's part of the game."

Luiz, 26, expects to be available for selection in Brazil's remaining matches in the competition, which ends on June 30.

Brazil have won each of their first two matches in the tournament and will face Italy in the final group stage match on Saturday.
