Cowboys and 3rd round pick Wilcox agree to terms

Irving, TX – The Dallas Cowboys came to terms with third round pick J.J. Wilcox on Wednesday, signing the safety to a four-year contract.

Wilcox was the Cowboys' second third-round selection in this past April's draft, selected with the 80th overall pick. He is expected to compete with veterans Matt Johnson and Will Allen for a starting position.

He played four seasons at Georgia Southern and became the highest-ever NFL draftee in the history of the school.

The Cowboys signed their other third round selection earlier in the week, wide receiver Terrance Williams, leaving only first-round pick Travis Frederick and second round selection Gavis Escobar unsigned.
