The home of the Ottawa Senators will be named the Canadian Tire Centre.

The building, which first opened in 1996, had been known as Scotiabank Place since 2006.

"The Ottawa Senators and Canadian Tire have been partners since 1990 when our fans first welcomed the team's announced re-entry into the National Hockey League," said Senators owner Eugene Melnyk in a statement Tuesday. "It is a long and storied partnership we are extremely proud of, and pleased to be able to build upon."

This will be the fourth different name for the arena, which was first known as the Palladium before changing its name to the Corel Centre.
