The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled pitcher Randall Delgado from Triple-A Reno and named him the starter for Tuesday's matchup with the Miami Marlins.
Delgado made his Arizona debut on June 3 and allowed two runs on four hits over two innings of relief work. He made 13 starts at Reno this season, going 2-5 with a 5.91 earned run average.
The 23-year-old right-hander spent last season in Atlanta, where he went 4-9 with a 4.37 ERA over 18 games, including 17 starts, before going to Arizona in the Jan. 24 trade that sent outfielder Justin Upton to the Braves.
To make room for Delgado, Arizona optioned pitcher Charles Brewer to Reno. Brewer, 25, did not allow a run in 3 2/3 innings of relief work over two appearances with the D'backs this season.
