Omaha, NE – Ben Wetzler threw effectively into the seven inning as Oregon State beat Louisville, 11-4, to eliminate the Cardinals from the 2013 College World Series.
Wetzler allowed three runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Dylan Davis and Max Gordon each drove in two runs while Tyler Smith, Michael Conforto, Danny Hayes and Jake Rodriguez each contributed with an RBI apiece.
Oregon State will take on the loser of the Indiana-Mississippi State matchup, who play later on Monday night, in another elimination contest Wednesday.
Jeff Thompson allowed seven runs -- three earned -- on seven hits over 3 2/3 innings for Louisville, which lost to Indiana in its first game in the CWS.
The Beavers extended a 3-0 lead with a seven-spot in the fourth inning. All of the runs came with two outs, including a pair of Sutton Whiting's error, and Oregon State cruised from there.
