Jupp Heynckes has ruled out coaching again.

After Bayern Munich completed an unprecedented triple for a German club earlier this month, Heynckes left his future open, saying he was taking time off. But the 68-year-old tells Spiegel newsmagazine "I had a worthy farewell."

Heynckes also rules out taking over a national team — including Germany — in an interview with Kicker magazine, also published Sunday.

Bayern decided not to extend Heynckes' contract and hired former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

Heynckes says this was the "right decision" that brought about a "change in generations." He says he is leaving Guardiola a "perfectly functioning team." Guardiola begins the job June 26.

Bayern broke multiple Bundesliga records and finished 25 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund. Bayern beat Dortmund for its fifth Champions League title, then beat Stuttgart in the final of the German Cup.
