The San Diego Padres activated infielder Logan Forsythe from the 60-day disabled list and placed infielder Jedd Gyorko on the 15-day disabled list on Monday.

Gyorko is hitting .284 with eight home runs and 25 RBI over 60 games this season, his first in the majors. He is suffering from a right groin strain.

Forsythe began the season on the 15-day DL with right plantar fasciitis and was moved to the 60-day DL on April 24. Over eight games in a rehab assignment at Triple-A Tucson, he batted .360 with two homers and five RBI.

Also on Monday, the team designated catcher John Baker for assignment. He batted just .150 with two RBI over 16 games for the Padres.
