New York, NY – Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera continues to pace all American League vote-getters in the second results from All-Star balloting.
Cabrera, last year's AL MVP and Triple Crown winner, has never been elected as an All-Star starter by the fans. He has 2,355,128 votes. That's a big lead ahead of Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis (2,084,274) and Orioles outfielder Adam Jones (1,944,450).
Robinson Cano (1,851,371) of the New York Yankees continues to lead all second basemen. He's got a huge lead ahead of Boston's Dustin Pedroia (1,106,949).
J.J. Hardy (1,231,843) of the Orioles has overtaken Texas' Elvis Andrus (1,045,885) at shortstop.
David Ortiz (1,716,410) of the Red Sox paces all designated hitters, and Minnesota's Joe Mauer (1,492,396) is well in front of Baltimore's Matt Wieters (1,153,795) at catcher.
Mike Trout (1,939,486) of the Angels and Torii Hunter (1,067,973) of the Tigers are second and third, respectively, in the outfield balloting.
Voting will continue through July 4 and the teams for the July 16 All-Star Game at Citi Field in New York will be unveiled on July 7.
