The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Dewayne Wise on the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics.

Wise has been battling a right hamstring strain and has appeared in just two of Chicago's last 12 games. For the season, the veteran reserve is hitting .234 with one home run and three RBI over 30 contests.

The White Sox recalled outfielder Jordan Danks in a corresponding move.

Danks, the younger brother of Chicago pitcher John Danks, went 3-for-15 with a home run during a nine-game stint in the majors earlier this season. The 26- year-old was batting .299 with five homers and 20 RBI over 33 games with Charlotte.
