Bradley Zimmer scored on a sacrifice fly in the 13th inning to push the San Francisco Dons to a 4-3 win over South Dakota State in extra innings of an elimination game of the Eugene Regional.

Zimmer began to inning by reaching on an error and then stole second. Zimmer then advanced to third on a passed ball and two batters later came in to score the winning run. Bob Cruikshank was 1-for-3 in the game and was responsible for the game-winning sacrifice fly for San Francisco (35-23) while Zimmer went 2-for-6 with an RBI.

Shane Kramer let up the run in the 13th inning to take the loss for South Dakota State (35-24). The Jackrabbits' loss eliminated them from the double- elimination regional.

Shane Hoelscher hit a RBI double in the first inning and that would be all the Rice Owls would need as they earned a 1-0 win over the Oregon Ducks in the second game of day.

Jordan Stephens pitched a complete game shutout for Rice (43-17) and allowed just four base runners while striking out 11 batters.

Tommy Thorpe pitched seven innings and allowed just a single run but took the loss for Oregon (46-15) which had just two hits in the contest.

Rice's win puts it into the regional final on Sunday night. Oregon and San Francisco will face off in an elimination game earlier in the day to determine who will face the Owls.
