The Southwestern Athletic Conference will move its football championship game to Reliant Stadium for the next three seasons.

The SWAC's council of presidents and chancellors voted unanimously to relocate the game from Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala., to the home of the Houston Texans.

The winners of the East and West divisions meet in the championship game, which this year will be held on Dec. 7.

The SWAC also will move its men's and women's basketball tournaments to the Toyota Center, the home of the Houston Rockets, the next three seasons. The 2014 tournament is slated for March 11-15.
