Tony Kanaan will have to get a duplicate trophy made for his Indianapolis 500 victory if he wants one for himself.

Kanaan promised to give his trophy to his 6-year-old son in Brazil. During a stop Tuesday in Texas on Tuesday, Kanaan says his son, Leo, won't forget that.

Kanaan says his son still has "no idea how big this race is." When they spoke about the victory, Kanaan says it was a normal conversation that went from "Daddy won a race" to the boy talking about what cartoons he was watching.

Just last week, though, the boy said in one of their daily talks that he had no memory of ever seeing his father win a race.

Indy was Kanaan's first IndyCar victory in nearly three years.
