The Seattle Mariners selected the contract of infielder Nick Franklin from Triple-A Tacoma prior to Monday's game against the San Diego Padres.

Franklin -- the Mariners' No. 4 prospect, according to MLB.com -- was hitting .324 with four home runs and 20 RBI in 39 games with Tacoma this season.

In addition, Seattle recalled pitcher Hector Noesi from Tacoma and optioned pitcher Lucas Luetge and infielder Dustin Ackley to Tacoma.

Ackley was hitting just .205 with one home run and eight RBI in 45 games this season.

Ackley was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, while Franklin was the 27th overall pick in that draft.
