The Cleveland Indians placed closer Chris Perez on the 15-day disabled list prior to Monday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Perez exited Sunday's game in Boston in the ninth inning due to right shoulder soreness. It marks his first career trip to the DL. He is expected to have an MRI on Monday.

The right-hander is 2-1 with six saves and a 4.32 ERA in 17 relief appearances this year.

The Indians recalled left-hander Nick Hagadone from Triple-A Columbus. He has a 7.20 ERA in 13 relief appearances for Cleveland this season.
