The National Hockey League fined Chicago Blackhawks forward Jamal Mayers a half-day's pay for shooting at Detroit's net during the warmups for Saturday's Game 5.

TSN of Canada reported the news on Monday.

Mayers, who has yet to actually skate a shift in the postseason, was caught firing pucks from his own offensive zone back down the other end of the ice -- which is a breach of unwritten rules -- approximately four or five times into the empty Red Wings net.

According to the terms of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, the total fine works out to approximately $1,600.
