Boo Weekley used four birdies in a 6-hole span Sunday to grab the lead, and he held on to win the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
Weekley, who won for the third time on the PGA Tour, closed with a 4-under 66 to finish at 14-under-par 266.
"We're back. We finally made it back," said Weekley, whose last tour win was in 2008. "I'm excited to maybe go play the FedExCup, and get over there to East Lake (for the Tour Championship). I get to go back to the Masters, this is awesome. I finally get my name up on that wall with Ben Hogan and some of the great ones that played here. It's awesome."
Matt Kuchar, the second- and third-round leader, birdied the last to grab second place. Kuchar closed with a 2-under 68 to end at minus-13. Last year's winner Zach Johnson was one stroke further back at 12-under 268 after a final- round 66 at Colonial Country Club.
Scott Stallings (66), John Rollins (68) and Matt Every (69) shared fourth place at 11-under-par 269.
Weekley was even-par through seven holes as he birdied the first and third, but gave those strokes back with bogeys at five and seven. He trailed Stallings by three at that point as Stallings had seven birdies and a bogey through 11 holes.
At the eighth, Weekley knocked in a short birdie putt and followed with a 18- footer for birdie to get within one at 12-under. As Weekley played the 10th, Stallings made a mess of the 15th.
Stallings flubbed a chip into a bunker, and left his fourth in that same sand trap. He got up and down for double bogey, which left him one behind Weekley.
"It's just a tough lie in a tough spot. You either dump it out to the right and have a 15-footer for par, or try to get it up and down. That was it," Stallings explained. "A chance I thought at the time I needed to be taken."
Weekley rolled in a 9-footer at the 10th for his third consecutive birdie. That pushed his lead to two and it remained there as he parred 11 and 12.
Kuchar ended a run of eight straight pars with a 55-foot birdie putt at the 12th to get within one.
Weekley, a two-time Heritage winner, answered with a 21-foot birdie effort on No. 13. He closed with five pars in a row to end at 14-under.
Kuchar parred five straight before scrambling from the trees to a birdie at the last to end one back.
Johnson tripped to a bogey on the 15th to dip to 10-under, but he bounced back with birdies on the next two holes. However, he parred the last to end two behind.
"I played solid. What I did today was I gave myself a number of opportunities. It seems like almost every other hole I had a really good birdie look," said Johnson. "I left some out there, but I also made some putts, so it probably all evens out."
Stallings couldn't recover from his double-bogey, as he parred the final three holes.
NOTES: Weekley earned $1.152 million for the win ... His other two wins were at Harbour Town ... Weekley is the first winner since Johnson in 2010 to post four rounds in the 60s ... Kuchar dips to 1-1 when owning the 54-hole lead ... The PGA Tour heads to Ohio next week for the Memorial Tournament, where Tiger Woods will defend his title.
