The Minnesota Twins optioned starting pitcher Vance Worley to Triple-A Rochester following a disappointing outing Wednesday, in which he allowed all eight runs over 3 2/3 innings in the Twins' 8-3 loss to the Braves.

Worley, 25, was Minnesota's Opening Day starter after he was acquired from Philadelphia in a trade for outfielder Ben Revere this past offseason, but has registered just one win this season versus five losses.

The right-hander has a 7.21 earned run average with 25 strikeouts over 10 starts. He's also walked 15 batters and allowed nine home runs over 48 2/3 innings.

The Twins will announce a corresponding roster move on Friday, with pitcher Samuel Deduno most likely being called to action.
