The Texas Rangers have purchased the contract of Ross Wolf from Triple-A Round Rock.
Wolf is scheduled to make his first start in the big leagues on Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics. The right-hander went 1-2 with a 2.02 ERA in seven games (six starts) with Double-A Frisco and Round Rock.
The 30-year-old Wolf has made 25 career appearances with the Marlins (2007) and A's (2010).
To create a spot on the roster for Wolf, the Rangers optioned pitcher Cory Burns to Round Rock. Burns made three appearances with Texas.
