Baseball player Jose Canseco has been named a suspect in a sexual assault case, Las Vegas police say.

The former MLB slugger has not been charged with any crime, but an investigation remains ongoing, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.

Canseco, 48, began tweeting last night that he was being visited by police in regards to the case, 8 News Now reports.

From 1985 to 2001, Canseco played with seven teams during his MLB career, hitting 462 home runs in nearly 2,000 games played.

He is currently playing for the independent United League as a player-coach for the Fort Worth Cats, according to the Associated Press.
