PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has a new motto he'd like his player to follow in 2013: less talk, more work.
Pittsburgh slogged through an 8-8 season in 2012, missing the playoffs and leading to several players criticizing the culture in the locker room. It was an unusual development for one of the NFL's most stable franchises, and a trend the Steelers know needs to end if they want to bounce back.
The team will have to do it without some familiar faces. James Harrison, Mike Wallace and Rashard Mendenhall are among a half-dozen starters last year who are now playing elsewhere. Veteran cornerback Ike Taylor says there are more new faces than ever before, a sign the door on his career is closing.
Yet Taylor added the pieces remain in place for Pittsburgh to win.
