The Baltimore Orioles try to put the brakes on a five-game losing streak Monday when they begin a three-game set with the New York Yankees at Camden Yards.

That may be easier said than done for the O's, though, as they will be matching up against CC Sabathia. The Yankees' big left-hander owns a career mark of 10-3 with a 3.38 ERA in 15 starts at Camden Yards.

Overall, he's 17-4 against them with a 3.03 ERA in 26 starts.

Sabathia is winless in his last three starts and did not get a decision on Tuesday against Seattle, as he allowed three runs (2 earned) and 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings of his team's 4-3 win. He also struck out a season-high 10 batters and is 4-3 on the year with a 3.10 ERA.

Baltimore, meanwhile, will counter with former Yankee Freddy Garcia, who is 0-2 with a 5.51 ERA. Garcia lost his second straight start on Wednesday, as San Diego reached him for four runs and seven hits in just 3 2/3 innings.

Garcia, who was 19-14 over the past two seasons for the Yankees, is 5-4 lifetime against them with a 4.09 ERA in 12 starts.

Baltimore's struggles continued this weekend, as it was swept at home by the Tampa Bay Rays. In fact, the O's have dropped six of seven overall and six straight at home and will be trying to avoid losing seven straight at home for the first time since an 11-game slide Aug. 22-Sept. 7, 2007.

"It's tough but it's still early," O's right fielder Nick Markakis said. "Any good team is gonna go through their rough stretches and hopefully we'll get this one out of the way and we'll move on."

New York had the finale of its three-game set with Toronto postponed by rain on Sunday, but the Yankees won the first two legs of that set and outscored the Jays 12-2.

The Yankees have won nine of 12 and sit atop the American League East standings, a half game in front of the Boston Red Sox and four games in front of both Baltimore and Toronto.

New York took two of three from the Orioles at home earlier this season and went 7-4 at Camden Yards in 2012, including the teams' AL Division Series matchup.
