MIAMI – A year ago in the playoffs, Indiana coach Frank Vogel raised the ire of the Miami Heat by accusing them of flopping.
Different words are resonating with the Heat again now.
Not long after the Pacers reached the Eastern Conference finals and another postseason clash with Miami, Vogel called the reigning champions "just the next team that's in our way."
So following the Heat practice on Sunday to start preparing for the Pacers, four-time NBA MVP LeBron James insisted that his team would be ready for the challenge of facing Indiana.
Miami beat Indiana in six games last season. The teams start the East finals Wednesday night in Miami.
