AC Milan scored twice in a three minute span to secure Serie A's final Champions League place with a 2-1 victory over relegated Siena at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Things started poorly for Milan as Claudio Terzi gave Siena the lead 25 minutes into the match and Massimo Ambrosini was sent off in the 68th minute, reducing Milan to 10 men.

But the Rossoneri caught a break two minutes later when Siena's Christian Terlizzi was shown his marching orders to make it 10 against 10 for the final 20 minutes.

Milan then found an equalizer six minutes from time when Mario Balotelli converted a penalty kick and Philippe Mexes booked Milan's place in Europe's elite competition with a winning goal three minutes from time.

The result sees the Rossoneri finish their Serie A campaign with 72 points, two clear of fourth-place Fiorentina, while Siena ends the year with 30 points and will play in Serie B next term.

Fiorentina 5, Pescara 1

Pescara, Italy - Fiorentina did its job on Sunday by thrashing bottom-of-the- table Pescara, 5-1, on Sunday at the Stadio Adriatico, but La Viola missed out on the Champions League by virtue of AC Milan's win over Siena.

Adem Ljajic scored his first of three goals on the afternoon in the 16th minute to give Fiorentina an early lead and he collected his second goal in the 24th minute.

Four minutes later Matias Fernandez found the back of the net to make it 3-0 to Fiorentina. In the second half, Stevan Jovetic scored in the 54th minute and Ljajic completed his hat trick five minutes later to give the visitors a 5-0 lead.

Marco Vittiglio got one back for Pescara 14 minutes from time, but Fiorentina closed out the season by taking three points to finish fourth in Serie A, two points behind AC Milan, while Pescara will be heading to Serie B next year, finishing in 20th place on 22 points.

Roma 2, Napoli 1

Rome, Italy - Roma closed out its Serie A campaign with a 2-1 result over Napoli on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico.

After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, Roma struck first two minutes into the second half through Marco Filho, and added a second tally in the 58th minute after Mattia Destro found the back of the net.

Edinson Cavani got one back for Napoli six minutes from time, but Roma held on to claim all three points, finishing the season in sixth place on 62 points, while Napoli will be headed to the Champions League next season, finishing in second place with 78 points.

Cagliari 1, Lazio 0

Cagliari, Italy - Daniele Dessena's goal 15 minutes from time lifted Cagliari to a 1-0 win over Lazio on Sunday at the Stadio Sant'Elia.

The lone goal of the materialized when Andrea Cossu lofted a cross into the Lazio penalty area where Dessena was there to nod it past Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti.

Lazio pushed numbers forward looking for an equalizer, but it never came to fruition as Cagliari ended the season with a victory to finish with 47 points, while Lazio ends the year on 61 points, five points adrift of a Europa League place.

Udinese 5, Inter Milan 2

Milan, Italy - Udinese closed out its Serie A campaign with five consecutive victories after posting a comfortable 5-2 thrashing of Inter Milan on Sunday at the San Siro.

Giampiero Pinzi got Udinese off to a flying start with a goal in the first minute of play and Maurizio Domizzi added a second goal just nine minutes later.

Juan pulled one back for Inter two minutes later, but Antonio Di Natale added a third goal for Udinese five minutes before the break.

After the interval Gabriel made it 4-1 for Udinese in the 52nd minute and Tommaso Rocchi collected a second tally for Inter, but Luis Muriel finished the rout for Udinese with a goal 15 minutes from time.

Udinese ends the season in fifth place with 66 points, while Inter finishes the year in ninth place on 54 points.

Parma 3, Palermo 1

Palermo, Italy - Parma struck three times in the opening 45 minutes en route to a comfortable 3-1 result over relegated Palermo at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Massimo Gobbi opened the scoring for the visitors in the 38th minute and Jamie Valdes added a second goal for Parma just three minutes later for a quick 2-0 advantage.

Ishak Belfodil finished the scoring for Parma with a goal in first-half stoppage time. Fabrizio Miccoli got one back for Palermo in the 75th minute, but Parma held on for the result to finish the season in 10th place on 49 points, while Palermo will be heading down after finishing in 18th place with 32 points.

Torino 2, Catania 2

Turin, Italy - Rolando Bianchi's tally late in the second half helped Torino rescue a point on the final day of the season in a 2-2 draw with Catania at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino.

Sergio Almiron got Catania off the mark first with a goal in the 25th minute and the visitors took the lead into the halftime break.

After the intermission, Alessio Cerci equalized for Torino in the 53rd minute, but Gonzalo Bergessio gave the lead right back to Catania with a tally in the 62nd minute.

Bianchi, however, found the back of the net seven minutes from time to save a point for Torino, which ended the season in 16th place on 39 points, seven clear of relegation, while Catania finished in eighth with 56 points.

Atalanta 2, Chievo 2

Bergamo, Italy - Cyril Thereau netted a stoppage-time equalizer on Sunday as Chiveo closed out its domestic campaign with a 2-2 draw against Atalanta at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.

The hosts struck first just eight minutes in through Guglielmo Stendardo and the lead held up for Atalanta all the way until the 76th minute when Chiveo got back into the match as Thereau scored his first of the day.

Atalanta went back in front with six minutes to play as Luigi Giorgi found the back of the net, but Thereau completed his brace in the third minute of stoppage time to save a point for his side, which finished the season in 12th place with 45 points, while Atalanta ends the year in 15th on 40 points.

Bologna 0, Genoa 0

Bologna, Italy - Bologna and Genoa battled to a scoreless draw on Sunday at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

The home side dominated play throughout the 90 minutes, peppering the Genoa goal with 34 shots, but just six on target. Genoa managed seven shots, but just two on goal as neither side was able to find a winner.

The result sees Bologna finish the season in 13th place on 44 points, while Genoa ends with 38 points, five clear of the bottom three.
