Seattle Mariners pitcher Aaron Harang has been scratched from Thursday's starting assignment versus the New York Yankees with lower back stiffness.

Harang was scheduled to face the Yankees for the first time in his career in the rubber match of a three-game set at Yankee Stadium. New York remains the lone team the veteran right-hander hasn't pitched against.

Former Yankee Hector Noesi will get the spot start. Noesi has compiled a 3.86 ERA in four relief appearances this season. The righty made 18 starts for the Mariners in 2012 after coming over with Jesus Montero from New York in the trade that sent Michael Pineda to the Yankees.
