Eager to put behind his troubled past, receiver Da'Rick Rogers is grateful to the Buffalo Bills for providing him a shot at a future.

And this, the undrafted rookie openly acknowledges, just might be the only chance he'll get.

Cherishing the opportunity in Buffalo "like gold," Rogers says it's on him to make the best of it after joining his new teammates in opening the Bills three-day rookie minicamp this weekend.

The Bills took a chance in signing the player who spent last season at Tennessee Tech. Rogers was forced to switch schools last summer. He transferred from Tennessee after failing several drug tests following his sophomore season.

Rogers says he's matured and has learned his lesson.
