The University of Alabama announced on Saturday that the school has hired Kristy Curry to lead the women's basketball program.

Curry, who recently completed her seventh season as the head coach at Texas Tech, helped the Red Raiders compile a 21-11 record this past year and earn a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

She accepted her first head coaching position at Purdue (1999-2006) and guided the Boilermakers to the postseason ever year under her watch.

Curry has a career coaching record of 309-149 and takes over a Crimson Tide program that went 13-18 overall last year, including a mere 2-14 mark in SEC play.
