Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol underwent a successful FAST Technique procedure on both knees Thursday morning.

During the procedure, a probe was inserted into Gasol's knees, which directed ultrasound wavelengths to debride degenerated tissue of Gasol's patellar tendons non-surgically. He will also receive autologous stem cell injections next week.

Gasol played just 49 games this past season due to a myriad of injuries, including a tear of his plantar fascia in his right foot that kept him sidelined for over a month.

Through his injuries, Gasol scored a career-low 13.7 points per game -- nearly five points below his career average. The 32-year-old also connected on only 46.6 percent of his shots and pulled down 8.6 rebounds per game after averaging double-digit boards the previous three seasons.
