New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal will not play in Wednesday's Game 4 of the team's Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Washington Capitals.
Staal returned for New York's Game 3 victory after missing the previous 29 games due to a serious eye injury and had 17:17 worth of ice time.
The 26-year-old blueliner did not take the ice with the Rangers during pregame warm-ups.
Forward Ryan Clowe, who sat out New York's last four games with an undisclosed injury, did take part in warm-ups and will be on the ice as the Rangers attempt to even their series at two games apiece.
