Report: Suns' Beasley investigated in sex assault probe

Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley is being investigated by police in regards to an alleged sexual assault that took place at his home back in January, according to a report from the Arizona Republic.

Beasley has not been arrested or charged with any crimes over the incident, which a woman told Scottsdale police occurred at the player's residence in Paradise Valley on Jan. 13.

"At this point we are investigating an allegation into a sex assault charge made against Michael Beasley," Scottsdale police officer Dave Pubins said in an e-mail to the Republic on Tuesday. "There is no booking photo as he was not arrested or charged with a crime. This investigation is ongoing."

Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 draft, was cited earlier in the year for driving with a suspended driver's license and operating a vehicle without proper registration after being pulled over for speeding.

The 23-year-old averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds over 75 games last season, his first with the Suns after coming over in a trade with Minnesota.
