A.J. Pollock went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to an 8-1 win over the San Diego Padres on Saturday.

Paul Goldschmidt added a pair of RBI and Josh Wilson, Cliff Pennington and Patrick Corbin drove in one run apiece for the Diamondbacks, who had dropped four straight entering the contest.

Corbin (4-0) gave up five hits, including a solo homer, while striking out seven over seven frames to earn the win. Corbin hasn't allowed more than two earned runs over six starts this season.

Chris Denorfia provided the Padres' lone run with a solo homer in the seventh inning. Clayton Richard (0-4) was tagged for seven runs -- five earned -- on seven hits over 3 2/3 innings. Richard hasn't earned a win since Sept. 20, 2012.

"The inability to consistently throw a strike when he needs to, and to make that one pitch to get him out of a jam just isn't happening," said Padres manager Bud Black.

The D'Backs scored six runs in the second inning and never looked back. With runners on first and second, Wilson cracked an RBI base hit to right field, and Pennington followed with an RBI single to center for a two-run cushion.

Wilson came around when Richard's throw on Corbin's sacrifice bunt skipped into right field and Pollock followed with a two-run ground-rule double. Goldschmidt's sacrifice fly to right field capped the inning.

"It really helps when we come out and put up six runs early on in the game, it just lets you go out there, pitch you game and go after guys. It helped out a lot and I am glad I was able to get through seven innings," Corbin said.

Pollock cracked a solo homer in the fourth and Goldschmidt added another sacrifice fly in the sixth to put Arizona on top 8-0.

Denorfia got the Padres on the board with a solo homer in the seventh.
