The Cleveland Indians claimed outfielder Ezequiel Carrera off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday.

Carrera, who will be added to the Indians' active roster in time for Friday's home game against Minnesota, will be making his second stint with the Tribe. The 25-year-old batted .255 with two homers, 25 RBI and 18 stolen bases over 116 games with Cleveland during the previous two seasons.

The Indians designated Carrera for assignment at the conclusion of spring training, with the Phillies claiming him off waivers on April 2. He went just 1-for-13 in 13 games with Philadelphia, who cut loose the native Venezuelan on Tuesday.
