Chandler Jones can't believe how quickly his first NFL season went with the New England Patriots.

The defensive end was drafted in the first round last year from Syracuse. Now he wants to help the new crop of rookies who open minicamp Friday.

Jones met with linebacker Jamie Collins on Thursday. The Patriots had no picks in the opening round and chose Collins in the second. Collins posed at midfield in Gillette Stadium with a No. 1 jersey alongside owner Robert Kraft and his son, Jonathan, the team president.

Jones says his entry into the NFL is fresh in his mind. And he says he'll share what he learned with Collins.

He says one lesson is that as a rookie you don't want to make mistakes.
