The Chicago White Sox acquired outfielder Casper Wells from the Oakland Athletics for cash considerations on Monday.

This will be Wells' fourth team since spring training. He was designated for assignment by Seattle just prior to Opening Day and claimed off waivers by Toronto on April 10, but did not play in a game for the Blue Jays and was dealt to the A's nearly two weeks later.

Wells went hitless in five at-bats for Oakland prior to being designated for assignment when the Athletics activated Yoenis Cespedes from the disabled list on Sunday.

The 28-year-old is a career .244 hitter with 25 home runs and 80 RBI over four major-league seasons with Detroit, Seattle and Oakland.

To add Wells to the 40-man roster, Chicago transferred pitcher Leyson Septimo from the 15-day to the 60-day DL. The left-hander is currently sidelined by a strained shoulder.
