Washington Capitals right wing Alex Ovechkin, St. Louis Blues goaltender Brian Elliott and New York Rangers center Derek Stepan have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the month of April.

Ovechkin earned the First Star after leading the league with 14 goals and 22 points in 13 games during the month, helping the Capitals to an 11-1-1 record and their fifth Southeast Division title in the last six years.

Elliott picked up the Second Star thanks to an 11-2-0 record, a 1.28 goals- against average, a .948 save percentage and three shutouts in 13 games to help the Blues earn the fourth seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Stepan garnered the Third Star after posting eight goals with 11 assists for 19 points in 14 games to help the Rangers claim the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
