The Anaheim Ducks are about to find out whether their outstanding regular season means anything in the playoffs.

The Ducks realize their impressive record and Pacific Division title won't matter much to the surging Detroit Red Wings.

Second-seeded Anaheim drew a tough first-round matchup with postseason-tested Detroit, which has given trouble to Teemu Selanne and his teammates for years. They're meeting in the postseason for the sixth time in 16 years.

While the Ducks largely coasted into the playoffs after jumping to a fantastic early-season start, the Red Wings are humming after playing tense games down the stretch just to make it into their 22nd straight postseason.

Game 1 is Tuesday night at Honda Center.
