Red Bull New York midfielder Tim Cahill earned his first MLS Player of the Week award for week 9 as he netted two goals in a 2-1 Red Bulls win over Toronto FC on Saturday.
Cahill opened his account in the 38th minute with a first-time shot from Roy Miller's pass, and he came to the rescue in the final minutes for New York to snatch the win.
TFC equalized through Jonathan Osorio in the 83rd minute, but Cahill headed home Thierry Henry's cross in the 90th to snatch three points for the Red Bulls, who moved into a tie for second place in the Eastern Conference with their third win in four games.
