There is plenty of playoff history between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs.

But not much of it is recent.

The two Original Six teams last met in the postseason in 1974, when Boston swept the Maple Leafs in the first round. The Leafs haven't beaten the Bruins in the playoffs since 1959.

Boston and Toronto will meet again in the best-of-seven first round of the NHL playoffs, starting Wednesday night at the TD Garden.

The Bruins wrapped up the season on Sunday night with a loss to Ottawa that left them second in the Northeast division and with the No. 4 seed in the conference.

Toronto finished third in the division and fifth in the East.
