The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to add depth in their depleted secondary, selecting Illinois cornerback Terry Hawthorne in the fifth round of the NFL draft.

Hawthorne finished his college career with 162 tackles and six interceptions. Though the 6-foot Hawthorne is not considered a physical defender, he's one of the faster defensive backs in the draft. Hawthorne ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine.

Hawthorne's health may be an issue. He was sent to the hospital with a concussion during a game against Wisconsin last year.

Hawthorne is the second defensive back taken by the Steelers in the draft. Pittsburgh took Syracuse safety Shamarko Thomas in the fourth round.
