The Rio Grande Valley Vipers are on the verge of a perfect postseason.
Leading 1-0, the Vipers can finish off the Santa Cruz Warriors on Saturday night in Game 2 of the best-of-three NBA Development League finals.
Rio Grande took the opener 112-102 on Thursday. D.J. Kennedy made the tiebreaking basket with 43 seconds left and Glen Rice Jr. finished with 33 points and 10 rebounds as the 2010 champions improved to 5-0 in the postseason.
The Vipers were the No. 2 seed after going 35-15 during the regular season. Santa Cruz (32-18) was No. 3 and hosted Game 1 before the series shifted to Rio Grande, which would also host Game 3, if necessary, on Monday.
