After making safe picks in the first two rounds of the NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals took a gamble with their third: The Honey Badger.

Believing a former Heisman Trophy finalist could get his life back on track, the Cardinals used their third-round draft pick to select LSU defensive back and kick returner Tyrann Mathieu.

The player known as the Honey Badger was one of the most dynamic players in college football before a dramatic and public fall from grace that included being kicked off LSU's team and an arrest for marijuana possession.

The Cardinals picked Mathieu after talking to him and nearly everyone who knows him. They also plan to put stipulations in his contract, including drug testing and visits with counselors and therapists.
